Class Warfare

Abigail and Dolley readers I must admit to being somewhat removed from the trials and tragedies of this world.  Frankly, I have my own troubles and taking on more is foolish and unhealthy.  I did venture out today, I was running errands and caught a magazine headline that made me angry.  The magazine was Mother Jones and the headline was "The Vampire Economy - How the ultra-rich are sucking America dry and can Obama survive their attack".  The cover had a vampire holding a swooning woman with a red white and blue hat on.  It was sickening and maddening at the same time.

I wanted to take a big sharpie and write "Liberal Propaganda!" on the cover, but alas I was in their territory, Earth Fare.  I don't normally shop there.  I always feel like I have walked into a temple or a shrine and I am disconcerted the whole time I am in there, rubbing shoulder with the patchouli smelling patrons. (Incidentally, they have the nastiest bathrooms around.  The seats are always covered in urine and there is toilet paper and paper towel trash all over the floor - so much for the libs taking care of the environment... but I digress.)

The fact that someone would have the unmitigated gall to blame the rich for the collapsed economy is simply class warfare.  To blame them for the continued depression is ridiculous.  To paint Obama as a victim is even more ludicrous.  It is not based in any economic theory.  It is not based on any economic truth.  It is straight forward, in your face, class warfare and we buy into this at our peril.  For it is the ultra-rich who are holding their money until such time as it is safe to invest again.  Then the economy will grow and the prosperity will gradually return.  This will happen somewhere around the time when the White House is no longer held by the biggest purveyor of class warfare, which by last count is somewhere in the neighborhood of 693 days.

As for me and mine, we'll keep holding on.

The Toughest Women on the Planet - Conservative, Good Looking, Brunette Politicians

Abigail and Dolley readers I must confess and it is indeed a sad day.  I have determined I can never run for political office.  You see I am a conservative, good looking, brunette (CGLB) and they are not allowed to run for public office any longer.  While technically not illegal (yet) Bachmann, Palin, and O'Donnell serve as a stern and sobering warning for any CGLB who is considering public office.  You better be ready, Sister, because you will be attacked with the ferocity of conflagration.   

I have the added handicap of being nice and think of a good come back about an hour after someone insults me.  My Southern Accent used when inconveniently speaking my mind and telling the truth would be fresh meat to the slobbering hyenas of the Mocking Stream Media.  I would undoubtedly be destroyed.  I am an Evangelical Christian, who happens to believe in a CREATOR.  That immediately brands me a troglodyte.  My pastor preaches the unvarnished truth of the Gospel and says a lot of Politically incorrect things like Sin, Redemption, and Hell.  I am a believer in individual liberty and against violence towards children and women in all forms, which makes me an enemy of the "I want to kill your baby crowd".  I went to a (gasp) State school where I got B's, so I am obviously an idiot and not worthy to grace the halls of Congress with my superiors.  I am "in trade" as the English Aristocrats used to say while holding their noses.  I have not lived a perfect life. My biggest offense though, is that I am cute.

Bring Back DDT - How the Green Religion is Killing People

Abigail and Dolley readers I am not a scientist or an entomologist.  Heck, I think I know the word entomology from watching CSI and Bones!  I first became aware of the DDT ban and devastating effects to the 3rd World and the bed bug explosion several years ago.  A group of my friends went to a brand new hotel at the beach and ran into them.  It was horrible!  They were all completely freaked out and even I (who was not on the trip) became obsessed with these nasty blood sucking creatures.  Being "Dolley", I of course started doing a bunch of research.

I actually came across this video from Stossel while doing Global Warming research, but it is an excellent example of how junk science adopted for political purposes can cost you a fortune, but more important contribute to the deaths of innocent people.  The portion about DDT starts about 1:40.



I have written extensively on the Religion of Environmentalist and if you care to check out back posts that link will take you to my musings on the subject.  Let it be sufficient to say that at their core, Environmentalist love the Earth and hate you.  You consume resources and your very breath is pollution and destruction.  That is their worldview.  Thus, it should not surprise anyone to learn that, one Environmentalist admitted that the primary problem with DDT is that it reduced the incidence of malaria in the developing world and thus increased the population.

That's right folks, it wasn't the safety of the chemical it was "Big Environment" deciding that kids in Sri Lanka did not deserve to live.  60 million people have died of malaria since 1972 because of the ban on DDT, that is 10 times more than died in the Holocaust.  Many of these deaths were children... as a Mother I can not imagine the horror of 1 let alone 60 million.

Now we have Bed Bugs and God forgive me, but I hope they invade every environmentalist home in the country.  I hope these nasty critters suck the blood from these Greenies as they have most certainly played a role in the deaths of these innocent people.  They will sing a different tune if it is THEIR children waking up with bites and thousands of dollars of extermination bills and loss of bedding, clothing, and carpets.  This is small in comparison to the mother in Africa whose child won't wake up ever again.

Perhaps it takes a bit of discomfort in our own lives for us to wake up and realize that we need to undo an egregious error.  We need to bring back one of the safest, cost effective, and efficient pesticides known to man.  Kill the bed bugs and kill the mosquitoes!  BRING BACK DDT!

EPA - An Agency Out of Control

In my professional capacity, I receive daily updates on Congressional actions that may effect my industry.  For the last year, the increase in hearings and investigations has increased dramatically.  Here is a new one for you, involving the EPA.  Ah yes, the beloved EPA who I believe has strayed so far from its original purpose that it should be disbanded and reformed with a strict structure and over view of power.  The legislative functions the agency has been usurping is unconstitutional and if we do not look out we will be looking at an all powerful Executive Branch, if in truth, we are not already.  That is though, another post.

Those of you watching the news and keeping up with things, and I assume, if you have somehow found this little blog, Abigail and Dolley, that you already are aware of the EPA's recent pronouncement that your exhale is a pollutant.  If you are unaware of this brilliant pronouncement then I suggest you Google the subject and read up on it.  It is amazing in its utter ridiculousness but do not be fooled it is intended to force Congress to pass laws that move it back into line.  Again, another post.

So to finally get to what I originally started out to write this morning... There is a law on the books that was passed in 1976 called the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).  Earlier this month, the House Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce (the lovely folks that gave us Cap and Trade) held a hearing on evaluating this Legislation.  EPA head, Lisa Jackson, has publicly stated her agency will be carrying out the environmental and regulatory agenda of the Obama Administration.  My Glenn Beck fans and readers are particularly disturbed by that prospect. 

The EPA is now claiming that the 1976 TSCA law must be changed because it limits the power of the EPA to regulate all chemicals in America.  You see, in 1976 the Congress allowed a Grandfather provision in the TSCA that said chemicals already in commercial use at the time did not have to comply with the new laws, these laws require extensive testing and government approval for all commercial chemical.

Thus, the activist EPA has gone whining to the "Cap and Trade" House Committee to state that:  They can't regulate these chemicals and no one has tested them for safety with Children, who know we are just doing this for the children, right?  Also, those pesky laws are keeping them from regulating the industry and that needs to STOP.  The EPA urges Congress to act now, I am sure it is an "Emergency" after all these dangerous chemicals have been in use since before 1976 and Americans are obviously in danger....

Give me a break.  The consequences of if the EPA is successful will create huge burdens on the industry and guess what?  It will raise the cost of everything you buy.  So let's see, they want to regulate (shocking) products that have been on the market and in use for 33 years, it will cause undue regulation on a self regulating industry that better not put out poison or harmful products because they are sued six ways to Sunday, it will do nothing but grow the government, won't do you a bit of good, and will actually cost you more money.

Yep, that about sums up Liberal Government.  How's that Change working out for ya?

I wonder if the headlines of today could have been presented to the American people a week before last year's election would the country still have chosen the way that it did?

• Repaid TARP funds not going back in the Treasury - more spending
• Expand Medicare - even though it is bankrupt in 10 years at the current enrollment
• Chamber of Commerce President has Bounty put on his head by Left Wing Group
• Obama's Pay Czar slashes salaries
• Moody's to remove the USA AAA bond rating if spending is not brought under control
• Fed Workers enjoy Boomtime - average pay $71K/year.
• Climate fraud continues to be ignored by the Mainstream Media and the Governments of the World
  

So what do you think?  Was this the "change" folks were looking for when they put the Progressives in power?  I sure hope not.  Can we stop them, I don't know, but I am sure going to try.

God Save America!

Stuck on A Course of Action

Have you ever determined a course of action to later find out it was incorrect?  I think we all have been faced with that situation at one time or another.  The content of your character is largely determined by your actions once you discover you were wrong.  An honorable person will reverse course, admit the mistake, apologize to those he has wronged if applicable, learn the lesson, and proceed forward.  A dishonorable person will persist along the wrong course because to do otherwise is to admit a mistake, to do otherwise may harm his "cause".  A dishonorable person will make the wrong decisions and not care who gets hurt along the way.

Such is now the case with the Copenhagen Climate Summit - the course of action our world leaders take in this regard, will in large part determine their Honor.  Will they acknowledge that there are serious questions about Man Made Global Impact or will they proceed down the path that has been clearly demonstrated as wrong?  I believe that the content and the character of each leader will be determined by how they proceed.

Sadly, the duly elected President of the United States of America, Barrack Hussein Obama has indicated he will proceed down the wrong path, once again putting on full display his lack of honor and intellectual courage, his lack of personal convictions of right and wrong, his inability to admit a mistake, his unwillingness to abandon the cause that leads to the ultimate end of total governmental control of the country and the world.  Once again, the Narcissist Obama makes the wrong decision and to hell with the consequences.

NYC Flyover - I Get It Now

Abigail and Dolley readers know, I am no real fan of the Obama Administration, but I also think of myself as a fair minded American.  Thus, when the whole "Fly Over" incident in NYC happened earlier this year, I thought it was stupid, but I didn't really grasp the magnitude of the gaff.  Perhaps because before today, I had never seen this picture.

This picture was not taken by Dolley Madison - I take no credit for it.

Look at that.... a very large plane followed by two fighter jets heading right into the heart of New York City.  Now think about it for a moment.....  Why was this picture not indelibly on my brain?  Why am I just now finding this picture?  Because once again the Media is not doing their jobs.

This publicity stunt caused panic on the ground.  Emergency lines were jammed, people evacuated buildings, and no one knew what was going on.  As an American, I am horrified by this image, as a New Yorker I would have been terrified.

Not only was this insensitive and stupid it is an example of the overwhelming disregard of others that permeates this Narcissistic President and Administration. This picture will forever symbolize to me the first disastrous year of the Obama Presidency. 

It's an American Thing, Stupid

The title of course is a play on the famous campaign slogan of Bill Clinton and James Carville, "It's the Economy Stupid". It was amazingly effective and delivered the White House to the Democrats for the first time in 12 years. It is time to move past the individual and driving force of how much money we have in our wallets. It is time to stop being consumed by one issue.

I believe though, that we as Americans are at a cross roads and that the lines delineated between us by the extremes on both sides will no longer be accepted. It is time for us to GROW UP and stop fighting about our labels.

It is time we recognize that our stated goals are much the same, though we differ in the manner and plan in which we want to achieve said goals. It is prudent to examine history and take a lesson from the success and the failures of the past, remember that "there is nothing new under the sun". Thus, the most alarming thing about what is going on in Washington is not the stated goals, but the manner in which we are pursuing them. The course of action we are taking in almost all areas has been proven ineffective, counterproductive, and dismal failures when tried in the past. Why then are we seeking to implement failed policies? I believe it is simply a matter of POWER. Stated goals and outcomes are not the real concern of the Washington bureaucrats, they want CONTROL. They want to decide what you do, how you do it, what you make, how you live, where you live, and they will not stop until they control and regulate every thing you do - see THEY know best. This taken to its logical conclusion is tyranny and the American Spirit will not abide the chains of slavery.

What do we need? We need Common Sense, we need Public Servants, we need the end of Politics and a return to the Principals of our Founding Fathers. Instead of Democrats and Republicans let us all become Constitutional Americans. These are the principals we can agree on:

Take care of the Helpless and stop funding and enabling the Clueless

Protect the Earth in a Common Sense manner

Peace through strength

Protect and close our borders - deport illegals

Educate our young people - train them in professions or send them to college

Any legislation, regulation or rule should have to pass Constitutional muster

Stop Judicial Activism

Stop wasteful spending

Remove and repeal rules and regulations that stifle business and job creation

Build safe and efficient nuclear power plants and allow access to the vast oil deposits in our country

Privatize government functions not authorized by the Constitution

Cut taxes

Balance the budget

Pay off our debt

Create a business environment that enables the American Spirit and Ingenuity to thrive - we have to start MAKING things.

Tell the rest of the world they will no longer have Military welfare - all of the countries in the world do not devote a huge percentage of their budget to defense, they rely on the USA to spend all the money and thus are on Military welfare - all nations must maintain adequate military defenses or start sending us money or forgiving debts owed them by our previous spending.

Term limit all government elected officials- this removes the permanent elite ruling class and motivates politicians to do the right thing for the country instead of the thing that gives them power.

These are American ideals and we need to stop fighting, stand together, and make the change. We must demand results from our legislators and other elected officials. We must no longer be disengaged from the public arena. We must stop with the prohibition to discuss religion and politics amongst ourselves. We must learn to engage one another with respect and intellect and common sense. We must stop tolerating lies, half truths, and spin from our partisans and elected leaders and demand honesty and candor. It is time for us all to stop being partisan and start being Americans. If we fail to do these things we will sink into the ranks of the once great Republics that could not hold on to the ideals that made them great to begin with.

I for one, choose to fight for the America I believe in. Will you?

It's Torte Reform, Stupid

Instead of taking over and destroying the greatest health care system on the planet, let's talk tort reform. That's right folks, step right up and hear all about it - tort reform is the single biggest area for health care reform that the Federal and State Governments could enact and guess what? It doesn't cost anything! Shocking I know, but all the LAWYERS in government need to change the way our judicial system processes medical related lawsuits.

The cost of malpractice insurance is one of the largest costs a doctor's office has to bear - more than rent and salaries. The expensive tests they order are part of the defensive medicine practice, would cease. The class action lawsuits advertised during daytime TV - gone for the most part. The lawyers are getting rich, not the doctors.

Fix two things - Loser pays, where if you sue someone and loose, you pay for their legal costs. Takes care of stupid and frivolous lawsuits. Cap punitive damages - if the doctor is guilty of malpractice the patient should be compensated maximum for their lifetime of lost income and punitive damages capped at $250K. We should not be in the practice of making people rich from these lawsuits.

The have capped the punitive damages in Texas and it has been wildly successful. Kansas has also adopted similar measures and have seen their costs go down and doctors come back to the state.

Last thing - get the states and the governments out of insurance writing. For example, in Virginia it is a state mandatory provision for all health insurance to cover cranial prosthetic - you know what that is? A wig, a freaking wig. So Joe 22 year old healthy guy goes in to buy health insurance and he HAS to have wig coverage - that drives the cost up for Joe, even though he will never use it.

I have a radical idea? What if I want to start a charity to help people that have lost their hair buy wigs? Wouldn't that be better? But of course, after I pay my 60% taxes, I can't give to the charity anyway - cause hey, "I'm just trying to spread the wealth around".
