Laws or Men - Who Do You Want to Be Ruled By?

It is the very foundation of our Republic, that we are a nation governed by laws and not ruled by men.

This is also at the very heart of the issue we see played out before us on the nightly news because one side of the political spectrum embraces this and the other side uses it as a shield to hide the fact that they actually believe the opposite.  Let me explain.

In the US, equal justice under the law means that all men are held to the same standards and judged and prosecuted under the same laws.  Being popular or being loved has no bearing on the application of the law, social status or position has no deterrent to the equal treatment under the law.

In a society ruled by Men, leaders are above the law.  The laws apply to others.  These leaders can break the laws if they choose to.  If these leaders are beloved, well, if they break the laws they must have a good reason.  Their fans and the power bases that they hold - Law Enforcement, Judges, Media, Academics, Religious Leaders all excuse the behavior of the benevolent leaders and will seek to bury and hide the story, cover it up, or deflect it.

What about if in a society ruled by Men, if the leader is wicked?  Well then, if he breaks the law there is no one to hold him to account.  He is free to do whatever he wants.  There is no difference between the wicked and righteous man in a society ruled by man, for the judgment of such things in the setting of a civil government are flawed and subject to interpretation.  I might think that Mike Pence is a righteous man but my Muslim neighbor would prefer the Ayatollah Khomeini.

This is the most dangerous type of rule on the planet, billions have been murdered, robbed, raped, tortured, and starved to death under the Rule of Man.

The Modern Left longs to be ruled by Men.  They were perfectly happy to be ruled by the perceived ultra cool Obama.  They excused every scandal, every blatant violation of the law perpetrated by his administration from Fast and Furious to the illegal ransom payment of cash to Iranians.  The list of outrageous acts that came out of the White House was vast and met with a collective yawn from his supporters and the media.

Iranian Sanctions and Laws Against Ransom Made this Highly Illegal

Using the same logic, of being ruled by Men, the Modern Left has become absolutely unhinged over the election of Donald Trump.  Their visceral hatred of the man and their confusion over our system of government has led them to the conclusion that he is so wicked that he must have committed a crime for which they can get rid of him.  Thus, while they operate under their belief that we are ruled by Men they try to apply the rules of law to anyone that disagrees with them.  They are manufacturing crimes that never occurred to feed a narrative that he will be gone soon.  It is insane.

All the while, those who maintain that we are still a nation ruled by laws and not men, continue to stew over the abuses we have seen in the last eight years.  So many crimes have gone unpunished, so many people have abused their power and broken the law for their own political gain with impunity that the right has within it a pressure valve that is building daily as they are assaulted with 24 hour news coverage of crimes that never occurred while actual crimes are shrugged off and ignored.  It is a volatile situation indeed.

Big Bird Gate and the Lunacy of the Left

Abigail and Dolley readers it is not surprising that the Left has seized upon a single item in the Romney debate and run with it.  Yes, I speak of Romney's insidious plans to cook and eat big bird.  That's right, you caught us.  We Righties want to destroy all that is good in this world and we are starting with Big Bird.  Now you've got to admit, the yellow dude has had it coming for a while now, I mean he teaches dirty little children to say their ABC's and we are against people learning to read.  We long for the day when only the elite had access to education and it was a crime to teach slaves to read....Yes, my friends we hate Big Bird and we are going to destroy him.

Big Bird on the Menu
Probably one of the best lines in the debate for O was when he asked if Romney was keeping his plans secret because they were so good.  In fact, this is EXACTLY why all conservatives running for office HAVE to keep their plans secret because the leftist media and politicians use every specific agenda item, turn it into a bludgeon, and beat candidates about the head and shoulders with it.  John Sunu put it well when he described this secrecy as a negotiation tactic for working with the other side of the aisle.  He then cleverly added that Obama had no clue about how to do that....

Finally, sitting on my couch watching the debate on Wednesday night, I kept looking at my husband with glee and saying, "Romney is kicking his ass!"  In retrospect, it would have been more apropos to say, "Obama is getting his goose cooked."  For most assurredly, it was Obama on the menu.  This is something we conservatives have been longing to see for five years.  Thanks, Mitt we look forward to calling you Mr. President.

Conservatives and Liberals - Common Ground

Abigail and Dolley readers it may surprise you to know but I find that there are certain things I can agree with the liberals.  In this swirling stew of social and economic upheaval that is 2012 America, common ground may be hard to come by but I will endeavor to make a few proposals.  For if we can find issues of agreement perhaps we can find ways of working together to accomplish these goals.

The fundamental challenge facing liberals and conservatives is not what we can agree on but our worldviews and the appropriate mechanism for solving these problems.  I have expounded on worldview exhaustively in this blog over the years and find that this is not a post to rehash all that I have written before.  I have also written extensively about the flaws in the reasoning and worldview on the topics that I find I have more common ground with the Liberals than I previously considered.

Care for the Environment:  We can agree that no one wants to live on a polluted Earth.  As a Christian, I take very seriously the admonition to be a good steward of the Earth and the possessions that the Lord has given me.  I was at Earth Fare the other day and handed the cashier my well used brown paper bags.  I commented that a client was teasing me about having them in my trunk and the cashier answered, "Well it shows you care about the environment."  I thought about it for a moment and said, "That's not really my motivation, to not reuse them is wasteful.  I believe in being a good steward."  I could tell the cashier was a bit taken aback but in the end had to agree with my sentiment.  Same result, different motivations, and different worldview but something we can agree upon.

Crony Capitalism is bad:  Once again, the solutions and the worldview are very different but we can  agree trillions of dollars to Solyndra, Archer Daniels Midlan, ConAgra, GE ect is crooked and serves the greed of politicians and business people alike.

Organic Food and Farming:  It tastes better, it is more nutritious, and it is healthier for the people and the land.  Big Ag and Genetically Modified food, animals, and seeds carry risks that I am not willing to take with my health or my family.

Newt Gingrich was very articulate on building bridges and understanding this concept.  His infamous Nancy Pelosi commercial was intended to demonstrate that we can indeed find common ground.  Perhaps as well, I have learned to look around the worldview difference to determine that as Americans there are many things we have in common.

Getting Back Together with Newt Gingrich

Abigail and Dolley readers, I have had a ton of fun this year "dating" the candidates.  At one time or another, I entertained them all, as I wrote about in Dating the Candidates.  I am pleased to announce that I am sporting a big ole engagement ring and have made my choice:  Newt Gingrich.  As my previous blogs have covered, Newt and I go way back and I initially rejected him out of hand (Newt Gingrich - The Candidate I Did Not Want to Like).  He IS like an old boyfriend that you get back together with, one where you know his flaws, one where you know his mistakes, but one where you decide the good far outweighs the bad.

Your best friends are quite skeptical, your Mother is heartbroken, and your Father looks across the dinner table and sends him "You better be good to my daughter" looks.  You try to convince them that you've made the right choice and if they love you, they will give him a chance.  In the end, it's his responsibility to convince them, not yours.  Newt is smart enough and articulate enough to win them over.

Why have I come to this conclusion?  Well, I have been leaning this way for several weeks and have watched all of his interviews and speeches - I mean all of them, since he announced.  I have read just about every news article written; at least the ones written by people who don't believe that conservatives are minions of evil.  I have researched the 21st Century Contract With America.  I have dug into the dirty laundry. and looked at the high profile mistakes, missteps, and scandals.  I've prayed about it.

What finally convinced me?  I have to say it was the video embedded below.  I have worked with manufacturers and distributors my whole career.  As a salesperson, I have watched manufacturing sputter and in the case of furniture, textiles, and woodworking, all but die in the great state of North Carolina.  My livelihood depends on a healthy manufacturing environment and at the end of this video I was imagining the big fat commission checks that were going to grace my bank account if this man becomes President.

Alas, I am not merely voting my pocketbook.  I have chosen to support the candidate with the best ideas, the clearest understanding of the issues facing the country, and the greatest experience and credentials in the field.  If you have not already done so, I encourage you to give Newt a serious look.

Some Observations

Abigail and Dolley readers I have noticed something recently, people are agitated.  They are short with each other and the level of just under the surface anger is rising.  I am a member of several conservative fb groups and the discussions on some of the treads are just down right nasty.  Mostly due to trolls whose sole purpose in life is to evoke anger in others but the volumes are rising.

I must say that if BHO had been vetted by the MSM or by the DEMs during the 2008 Primaries like Rick Perry has been this last week and a half, I doubt he would be President.  There have been all sorts of drive by shootings at Perry and at first I bought into them but then Michael Reagan posted a very fair and balanced article on the issues, not the sound bites and I began to change  my mind.  I continued to see the bashers out there I attempted to guide them to the same site that had thoughtfully laid out the issues and show them the the other side only to become the target of their rage.  It was quite illuminating.

So, I have not yet made up my mind on who I will support but never the less, here is the article I found so interesting, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.The Pesky Truth

The Inherent Decency of the Right

Abigail and Dolley readers it occurred to me today that the inherent decency of the Right has been on full display this election season as personified in Democratic Senate Candidate from SC, Alvin Greene.  If you have missed Alvin Greene on the national stage you can attribute that largely in part to the hands off approach people on the right have taken toward this candidate.  Watching or listening to Alvin Greene brings to mind the admonition of my Mother, "Do not stare or make fun of retarded people."  For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, here is an Alvin Greene video.

Let's just pretend for a moment that this guy was a Conservative.  Can you imagine Stewart, Olberman, Matthews, Maddow, Rhodes, Schultz, and all the other viscous liberal attack hyenas would do to him?  Can you imagine if Alvin Green was a CGLB (Conservative, Good Looking, Brunette)?

The man won the SC primary largely because people thought he was the blues and gospel singer, Al Green.  That is just pathetic.  Ironically, I think Alvin Greene was the Lord's way of blessing Jim DeMint and honoring this great man for his service.

I am in the Charlotte Metropolitan area and thus, Alvin Greene is local politics in my media market.  To a person, every conservative commentator and interviewer has refrained from destroying this guy.  Mark Levin, who can be quite the ranter, was as polite as possible to him.  The interviewers are embarrassed for him and Keith Larson of WBT has even tried to help him during exchanges.  It is actually quite painful.

The Left would show no mercy if this guy was a Conservative.

The Toughest Women on the Planet - Conservative, Good Looking, Brunette Politicians

Abigail and Dolley readers I must confess and it is indeed a sad day.  I have determined I can never run for political office.  You see I am a conservative, good looking, brunette (CGLB) and they are not allowed to run for public office any longer.  While technically not illegal (yet) Bachmann, Palin, and O'Donnell serve as a stern and sobering warning for any CGLB who is considering public office.  You better be ready, Sister, because you will be attacked with the ferocity of conflagration.

I have the added handicap of being nice and think of a good come back about an hour after someone insults me.  My Southern Accent used when inconveniently speaking my mind and telling the truth would be fresh meat to the slobbering hyenas of the Mocking Stream Media.  I would undoubtedly be destroyed.  I am an Evangelical Christian, who happens to believe in a CREATOR.  That immediately brands me a troglodyte.  My pastor preaches the unvarnished truth of the Gospel and says a lot of Politically incorrect things like Sin, Redemption, and Hell.  I am a believer in individual liberty and against violence towards children and women in all forms, which makes me an enemy of the "I want to kill your baby crowd".  I went to a (gasp) State school where I got B's, so I am obviously an idiot and not worthy to grace the halls of Congress with my superiors.  I am "in trade" as the English Aristocrats used to say while holding their noses.  I have not lived a perfect life. My biggest offense though, is that I am cute.

Welcome New Abigail and Dolley Readers!

Dear Faithful Readers,

I started a new job today and am very blessed to have a great opportunity.  When the announcement went out today to the corporation, several enterprising colleagues Googled my name and were directed to this blog through a professional profile.  I must admit that my eyes got huge when a colleague commented that their new GM was certainly "right of center"!

Now, I am not ashamed of this blog nor the opinions expressed therein, but life can be compartmentalized and I am essentially a private person in my professional life.   It is usually best to get to know folks a bit before laying the full force and opinion of Dolley Madison on them.  Within my professional career, I prefer my work, reputation, and colleagues to speak for me.  I leave aspects of faith and politics within their appropriate realms.

I will be meeting with many of my new colleagues in a few weeks for a Global Meeting and look forward to getting to know each of them.  So if you, kind reader, are one of my enterprising new colleagues who had the foresight to save the link to this blog before I removed it from my public profile, I hope you enjoy your visit here and I look forward to working with you.

For the rest of you faithful readers, thanks for visiting and giving me your comments.  Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Testing Principals - If it Does Not Work in the Micro it Will Not Work in the Macro

For a principal to be true in the Macro is must also be true in the Micro.  Failed policies, beliefs, and philosophies ignore this truth and seek to impose their will on others.  History often bares this out but as a society we are so self important we believe that because we are involved, this time it will be different.  It will not be different, for there is nothing new under the sun.

Let me give you some examples:

Individually, we know if we work very hard for something we value it more than if someone just gives it to us.  Examples in the Macro - public housing vs. private neighborhoods.  Have you ever seen pictures of new public housing and then a retrospect of what the same housing looks like 10 years later?  It is shameful, but demonstrates the point.  If you are "given" a home you do not have to work for or earn, what insentive do you have to take care of it?  None!  If given a choice, which would you choose, where would you live?

Evolution vs. Creation - in Creation the beginning is God.  In Evolution they can not tell you the beginning.  If you can not start with the first atom and explain where that came from, everything there after is based on a false premise and is then applied to the world and the universe at large.

Sincere and honest belief makes something true, truth is individual, and should be tolerated as equally valid.  This premise is applied to the macro of "personal faith" all the time, but it is ludicrous when applied to the micro.  If I sincerely believe that the plate of potato salad in front of me is a steak sandwich no matter how sincerely I believe it, it does not make it true.  If I sincerely believe that Ronald McDonald is the son of God does my sincere belief deserve the same respect as those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Truth is relative - If I sincerely believe I am an alien from Ork does that make it so?  No, it only sends me to a mental hospital!  If a rapist believes he is making love to a woman and that there is nothing wrong with that, does that make rape okay?

Communism vs. Free Enterprise - Communism ALWAYS fails in the micro and the macro.  It is only in the minds of the Utopians where it doesn't.  Unfortunately, there are enough mislead and deceived souls out there that will ignore history, ignore real world examples, and continue to live in LaLa Land.

Thus, I have briefly demonstrated the point that if something is not true at all levels then it can not be true at any level.  We must reject the lies and insist on the truth.  We must stop "tolerating" irrational suppositions and shine the light of sense, reason, and logic on the things that are only true in someone's mind.  We must stop supporting policy and regulations that seek to ignore human nature and impose a misguided vision on those they seek to help.  It is time my friend to stop humoring those who believe the lies and it is time to start speaking the truth.

Calvin Coolidge - A Study in Foundations

Abigail and Dolley readers I have recently become interested in the study of Calvin Coolidge and the contrasting of the Coolidge years with the Wilson and FDR years.  Liberal historians will laud the wonderful accomplishments of Wilson and FDR while deriding Coolidge as the cause for all the ill of the Great Depression.  A careful study of the facts reveal that the 20's were indeed a Golden Age of Prosperity and Opportunity for everyone in the country.  While the decades of Wilson and FDR are marred by misery and war.

Wilson and FDR both were bold experimenters tinkering with the American system to change the outcomes from Freedom and Prosperity to Fairness and Central Control.  Coolidge on the other hand was a strong fundamental principled believer in doing what works and what is proven by history to be effective.  Calvin Coolidge studied and meditated on what the bedrock foundation of American Society was and governed in harmony with those principals.

He is much maligned by the Liberal Historians, but a careful study reveals the truth.  Consider this from theThe Heritage Foundation:

In some ways, President Coolidge was a supply-sider before his time. He understood that high tax rates do not always mean higher tax revenues. Taxes can constrict economic activity, leaving less profit and income to tax. "The method of raising revenue," he argued,
ought not to impede the transition of business; it ought to encourage it. I am opposed to extremely high rates, because they produce little or no revenue, because they are bad for the country, and, finally, because they are wrong. We cannot finance the country, we cannot improve social conditions, through any system of injustice, even if we attempt to influence it upon the rich.... The wise and correct course to follow in taxation and in all other economic legislation is not to destroy those who have already secured success but to create conditions under which every one will have a better chance to be successful.
That is sound, practical, principled advice for any time. In his own time, it was dramatically effective. The Revenue Act of 1926 -- engineered along with Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon -- was a stunning success. In 1922, the effective tax rate on the wealthy was 50 percent, who paid a total of $77 million into the Treasury. By 1927, Coolidge had cut their tax rate to 20 percent -- but the same group paid $230 million in taxes. Meanwhile, the total tax burden on people making less than $10,000 fell from $130 million in 1923 to less than $20 million in 1929.

For more on this subject, check out the Heritage link above.

I must conclude that in the days of glitz, glamor, and Godlessness - Calvin Coolidge and his solid principals are looking mighty good.

The Victim's Party

Abigail and Dolley readers if the Dems tactics for shaping the debate and name calling wasn't so repulsive and vile, I would say the Conservatives should adopt it.  It IS effective.  Hence the whole Tea Party People are scary.  So instead of standing up and being the rat bastards that they are, they cloak themselves in perpetual victimhood.  We are mad, we are scared, we are sick of being ignored, but we are going to vote your butts out of office and take back our country and return it to the Republic.

We know who you are, you are the sneaky smarmy bastards of our childhood, who envied the achievers, oppressed and made fun of the little kids and the weak while playing the perfect child in front of the teacher.  My sense of justice recoils.  My sense of righteousness is assaulted.  If we were on the playground I would punch them in the nose.  Oh, wait, is this a threat of violence.  Go ahead, tell the teacher.  I'll take my lumps.

I Am a Conservative, Not a NeoConservative; I Am a Liberal, Not a Progressive

Hmm, as Abigail and Dolley readers know we are constantly refining our positions, investigating our beliefs, and testing our tenants to insure that they conform to logical and linear arguments.  I stumbled upon a debating Democrat this morning who when asked to define what he believed in was articulate, reasoned, logical, and firmly held beliefs based on the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.  So how then could he possibly consider himself a Democrat?  What I discovered was that he considered himself a liberal and thus historically identified with the Democratic Party and had not yet realized that is not who they are anymore.  Conversely, he attacked the conservative writer by bringing up the failures of the Bush Administration obviously assuming that anyone of the conservative mind set must be a defender of GW Bush and a fellow NeoConservative.

It is the Progressives that are running the Dems and the Neo-Cons that are running the GOP - that is what is dividing us politically because the American people are not Progressives or Neo-Cons. Thus, those of us with a conservative mind set view the Progressive agenda with horror and the Dems do the same with the Neo-Cons. The challenge in our discourse is that WE THE PEOPLE are not represented by either of the major Political parties, but are tearing each other apart for things we have perceived the "other" side to believe.

The Religious Left

Abigail and Dolley readers - I have to give credit to my fellow blogger, Bloviating Zeppelin for coining the phrase, Religious Left.  It resonated with me tremendously and in the way a beautifully turned phrase can do, summarizes and clearly defines the object and essence of the subject.

Follow this link, Cambridge Plans to Fight Global Warming "Emergency" .  This is clearly a story about the Religious Left gone wild in the name of the "Global Warming Emergency".  The zealots are as fanatical and dangerous as any devoted cult, and they are creating policy and influencing public behavior.

The cultural wars are now clearly defined and at some point in the future everyone in America will need to choose their side.

Where will you fall - with the traditions this country was founded upon and embodied by the Conservative "Religious" Right or with the secular humanist, vegans, and socialists on the Progressive "Religious" Left?

Why Does Left Wing Talk Radio Fail?

With the demise of Air America this week, I have been contemplating talk radio.  Why is Left leaning talk radio a dismal failure, when Right leaning talk radio is a phenomenal success?  I am always amazed at the lefties that will call into conservative talk radio shows and try to argue with the hosts.  Invariably, they will say they listen to the show all the time and then they will add some disclaimer such as, the show lets them know what they should be against or some other such banal excuse.  The fact remains that they ARE listening, yet very few listen to the Left when they go on the same airwaves.  Why?  I mean there is certainly no shortage of Left leaning broadcasts, movies, and shows - why does Left talk radio fail?

I think I know the answer.  The difference is that left leaning movies, TV shows, and "news" programs are subtle in their message.  They frame it with humor or language or drama, it is the underpinning, but the audience is never asked to validate or confirm the opinion.  It seeps into their conscience without careful analysis in the harmless guise of fun or information.  Direct participation in the process by the recipient is not required.

Talk radio on the other hand is a straight forward presentation of ideas and information that necessarily requires blunt and clear communication.  Successful talk radio of course requires callers and others to debate the subject matter.  When confronted head on with what the lefties believe in and want to do the American people recoil in disgust.  When the lies and the spin and the agenda are not cloaked in subterfuge, they are rejected by all but the most rabid of lefties.

I have XM radio in my car and know exactly what and who are on during my morning and evening commute.  Ironically, the station that hosts Glenn Beck in the AM is the same one that hosts left leaning Randi Rhodes at night.  Inevitably, I get in my car, proceed out of the parking lot with this harridan spouting lies full blast over my speakers.  I physically cringe at the sound.  I have actually forced myself to try and listen on a few occasions to see what the other side is saying and I honestly just can't stomach it.

How can liberals confess to regularly listening to Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and I can not abide 5 minutes of Randi Rhodes?  Are they stronger than I am some how?  No, I don't believe that is the case.  I believe the liberals are able to listen, even though they disagree, because they are for the most part listening to the truth.

Everyone has that spot planted within them that will respond to the truth.  The truth is compelling and fills a missing part in your soul.  Lies on the other hand make one recoil, we know instinctively when someone is a liar.  Leftist talk radio is full of the bare bones lies they try to portray as truth.  Even those that agree with it find it unpalatable.

Can You Imagine if A Conservative Did This? Part 2

Abigail and Dolley readers may know I love to play this game.  There is rather an extensive list under Can You Imagine if A Conservative Did This Part 1 but of course the outrages never stop so let's add a few:

Can you Imagine if George W Bush's "Safe School Czar" had encouraged children to have sex with adults and reminded them only to wear a condom?

Can you imagine if the same Czar was a member of a radical pedophilia group and actively taught junior high school kids the proper way to insert a whole hand up a boy's rectum?

Can you imagine if in one year of a Conservative taking office that we had experience 33% of the terror attacks in the last nine years?

Can you imagine if a Conservative had added 3 Trillion dollars to the National Debt in less than a year.

Can you imagine if a Conservative had rushed through a stimulus package that was nothing but special interest payback, pork, and communist infrastructure and did not do one damn thing for the economy?

Can you imagine if a leading Conservative strategist had written the play book while in Federal Prison on Bank Fraud charges (see Richard Creamer if you don't know who I am talking about)?

Can you imagine a Conservative backing a bill that puts the IRS in more control of people's lives and could actually put them in jail for not buying health insurance?

Can you imagine if a Conservative President gave Constitutional Rights to a terrorist and moved their trials to civilian courts where the widows and children of their victims live?

Can you imagine if a Conservative threatened to tie up NYC for said terror trials?

There is so much more, but I have to rub my husband's foot and he is grumping at me.  Oh well, I am sure we will have a Part 3.

"Recoiling in Absolute Shock and Horror"

"We finally met liberals, up until now, we have just had to watch them give speeches, but nobody has actually seen them govern since Lyndon Johnson... Now we are watching a certified liberal govern and the American people are recoiling in absolute shock and horror." Dick Morris

This quote cracked me up. It is taken from an interview that Dick Morris gave to Sean Hannity last week regarding the shift in the polls and the movement by the American people back toward conservative values.

I am going to give the young people a pass on this one. I was an idealistic young voter once too. Winston Churchill once said, "Show me a young man who is not a liberal and I will show you a man who has no heart. Show me an old man who is a liberal and I will show you a man with no brain." So, if you are 25 and under, you can chalk this up to a learning experience, albeit an expensive one for the country. This post is aimed at all you folks over 25 who voted for the Democrats in 2008.

If you voted for these liberals and did not know what you were going to get or who they really were, then you were a fool. A review of history will reveal the utter and absolute failure of their belief system and governance. We are seeing it now in all its liberal glory.

I am old enough to remember the Carter years and the "general malaise". It was a sad time to be a kid in America believing that we were once the greatest country in the world, but we weren't anymore. Gas lines, inflation, strikes, the death of the Rust Belt, factories closing in record numbers, hostages in Iran, and a sense of defeat about us. I remember... as a child I determined that the Democrats were not good for the country. That belief was later dramatically confirmed by the governance of the greatest president of the 20th Century, Ronald Reagan. So, as a kid, I chose my party and beliefs.

Ironically, my son is the same age as I was when Carter was elected. I see this whole mess through his eyes and it is history repeating itself. The difference this time? Debt, deficits, corruption, and special interests. We are so far removed from the Constitution and our founding principals that I fear nothing short of rebellion will bring us back. We are a country stripped of its moral and spiritual history by a the liberal education system, news media, and Hollywood and as such we have lost our way.

I said after the election that I was actually glad that Obama won, for I knew the lean to the left would correct itself once people saw what the liberals were actually like and I hoped it would wake the GOP up that nobody likes a RINO. I believe it has done both of those things, but the cost is a terrible one to pay.

More Hollywood Propoganda

I am making choices with my pocketbook these days and holding on to my bucks when movies or stars or singers tick me off with their wacko beliefs and hypocrisy.  Such is the case with the new movie Avatar.  We saw a 3D IMAX preview a couple weeks ago, and while it was truly awesome, we won't be going to see it.  Why, you ask?  Because I am done with the propaganda.  I am done with the agenda, and I am not going to overlook my values and say, "It's just a movie" anymore.  What's so bad about Avatar? Well, I just saw the preview, but this is what I got:

The US Military is set to destroy peaceful, environmentally neutral and in tune with nature peaceful beings, for the corporate greed of a mineral.  The hero, wounded in some other imperialist, capitalist pig war, has lost a limb, and only when he becomes enlightened by the gentle savage is he a human being worth saving.

Let's get something straight right here and right now - the United States Military is the most honorable fighting force in this world's history.  There has never been assembled a finer body than our military.  The US Military has shed their blood and died to free and protect thousands worldwide, not for money, power, or greed - but for honor.

Secondly, the fact of the matter is any species on earth or in the galaxy without the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ are savages.  The illusion of the noble savage is just that; an illusion.  Hollywood has perpetuated a myth of peace loving, earth worshipers; their idea of holy people - when the facts are quite different.  Read Lewis and Clark's accounts of the Lakota Souix, do your research on the Mohawk, or the Camanche; these were brutal wicked people.  Read writings from the early settlers, read writers from the times - not the romanticized drivel we are passed today as history.  The facts stand that past, present, or future a people with a culture that does not include Jesus Christ are lawless, abusers of women, tyrannical, and savage.

The movie, of course it is big government and big business out to destroy the peace of the earth and civilization to make a buck.

You know what, James Cameron?  You aren't going to make your buck off me.  I encourage all you Tea Partiers, Conservatives, Christians, and Supporters of the Military to keep your dollars in your pocket - go see The Blind Side instead.  That's a movie that represents who we are - Conservative, God Loving, Hard working folks - put your money where your mouth is folks!

Don't Fall For It - Lukewarm Will Get You No Where!

Fox News today is reporting that some GOP leaders are proposing a litmus test to determine if a candidate should receive funds for the upcoming elections.  There are 10 questions and a candidate running as a Republican has to agree with 8 of the 10.  These are 10 major tenants of the party and I see no problem asking folks who are running under the party banner to state that they agree with their party on these issues.  Of course, the RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) are squawking because they should not be called Republicans and have never been in accordance with the conservative core of the GOP.  The Democratic strategist interviewed for the story was purportedly chomping at the bit with excitement stating that it would turn away potential independent and liberal voters.

As is always the case in politics, you have to move beyond the rhetoric and actually look at historic outcomes.  One must also recognize that when your opponent wants you to do something, you would be well pressed to do the opposite.  In this case, what happens when the GOP runs candidates that adhere to conservative principals and don't try to act like "Democrat Light"?  The GOP wins.

Had such a litmus test been in place, would we have had a Dede Scozzafava in New York?  Would we have a Lindsay Graham, Olympia Snow, or an Arlen Specter (who of course has now switched parties)? For that matter, would we have a John McCain?

Any time in the last 30 years, when the GOP ran under the full banner of conservative principals of limited government and lower taxes, they win.  The problem with the Republican Party is that they have not delivered.  They have become a party of big government, just like the Democrats.  People do not rally under an ambiguous banner.  They do not become passionate supporters of moderates.  They do not see much difference between the parties as they existed in the 2008 elections other than the fact that John McCain ran the worst campaign since Walter Mondale.

Enter the Tea Parties.  Fired up every day Americans who work hard and play by the rules and say "Enough is Enough!"  Tea Parties will force the GOP back to its roots or it will run its own candidates and split the electorate.  This ultimately hands elections to the Democrats, which while painful, is the price the GOP must pay for failing to govern.

I say to the leadership of the GOP, do not be afraid of a litmus test - be afraid of not having one.  The price of continuing along the moderate middle of the road, stand for less government than the Democrats is the road to failure for your party and ultimately for our country.  The Lord Himself finds middle of the road, lukewarm disgusting, ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3:15-16.

What's it going to be GOP?

Sarah Palin - A Woman After Our Own Hearts

Abigail and Dolley readers know that this blog is dedicated to examining current events through the intellect of Abigail Adams and the charm and grace of Dolley Madison - thus, we have determined that Sarah Palin is our kind of lady.  If times were different in 1776, Abigail Adams would have been sitting at the Massachusetts table of the Second Continental Congress with her husband John and his cousin, Samuel. Relegated to home and hearth, we have invaluable correspondence between Abigail and John and see her guiding and gentling hand in the preeminent Founders work.  Her support of women's rights was a century ahead of its time and it is through the eyes of a modern woman, I humbly thank my Grandmother's before me who have given me the rights I enjoy today as a strong American Woman.

It is with these eyes that I wonder, why does the media hate Sarah Palin?  She reminds me of all that is good in American Women.  She reminds me of myself in many ways.  Why then does the media hate me?

We like Sarah Palin because she is strong enough to stand up for her convictions and to back up her words with actions.  We like Sarah Palin because she values liberty, freedom, and family.  We like Sarah Palin because she does not wait around for others to lead.  We like Sarah Palin because she supports our military.  We like Sarah Palin because she would actually impose sanctions on Iran and not just talk about it.  We like Sarah Palin because she is not so jaded she looks at a problem and says, "it's too big to fix".  We like Sarah Palin because she can answer a question without a teleprompter.  We like Sarah Palin because when she answers the question, you can believe what she said because she actually answered the question and did not give a political slide and duck that could mean two or more things without saying a word.  We like Sarah Palin because she did not abort her Downs Syndrome Child.  We like Sarah Palin because she can laugh at herself.  We like Sarah Palin because she is a Believer.  We like Sarah Palin because she took on corruption in her own party and in her own state.  We like Sarah Palin because she sold the Governor's Jet.  We like Sarah Palin because she sees the connection between energy Independence and National Security.  We like Sarah Palin because she believes we should kill the Caribou and take their oil.  We like Sarah Palin because for the first time since Ronald Reagan we have a dynamic conservative leader. We like Sarah Palin because she would be right at home at a Tea Party.

We like Sarah Palin because in our day, Abigail and I could not run for President, but Sarah Palin sure can.

The Devil in the Dedication

Abigail and Dolley Readers - Have you ever found out something that was so outrageous about someone, even if you didn't like them, that you struggled with the possibility that it CAN'T be true? Such was the case yesterday when I stumbled upon some information so disturbing, I had to confirm it from several sites before I myself would believe it. How this is not common knowledge has to be Supernatural, there is no other explanation for it.

Many of you know about Saul Alinsky, his writings, books, his methods. You may also know that two of his prominent disciples are Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Further, this method and playbook are outlined in a book called the Rule Book for Radicals and is being employed with textbook efficiency on America right now. If any of the above pieces of information are new to you, then I encourage you to do some research on the Internet and you will find hundreds of sites, blogs, links, and videos elaborating on this subject. Of note, Acorn, was born out of this movement, but that is another blog all together.

So you may wonder, what was it I found so unbelievable about the above when it has been well reported and covered by the bloggers and Fox News? I will tell you.... the dedication in the book Rules for Radicals. The handbook of our sitting president, is dedicated to Satan. Lest you think I jest, see the below:

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer"

Now, let that sink in for a few moments... let's play the a game of "Can You Imagine if a Conservative Did That?"

Why don't we know about this? Why doesn't anyone in the media report on it? You will be shocked at who is not listed on the Google Search - I ask you why?

Ephesians 6:12 This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.
