Dear iPhone Camera - An Open Letter

Dear Camera,

I'd like to say thank you for capturing those images of my loved ones that have gone on to be with the Lord.  Thank you for documenting the growing years of my son and the passage of time and fun memories our family has shared.  I'd like to say, though, that since you stopped being a real camera and became an iPhone, I don't like you as much.  Yes, you are convenient but I find you aren't quite the truth teller or the beauty recorder that you used to be.

At first, I thought it was just me.  My photogenic face was older and heavier and perhaps it was just the passage of time but then I began to see that almost everyone looked worse on that small screen.  Images were distorted, corrections that the eye easily makes are beyond your limited facsimile abilities.

Your camera does not capture nuances, for example, the light and shade in hair.  When I was a young girl, my hair was indeed monochromatic, brown with a reddish cast, your grandmother, the 35mm captured it beautifully.  You are incapable of such subtlety and relegate the very interesting shades of dark brown, gold, umber, white, gray, and cinnamon to dull brown with gray at the temples.  Nor can you see the texture, curl, wave, and style - nope, just a brown football helmet.

The eyes... the eyes of the young girl held dreams and visions of the future, the eyes that look back at me from the mirror hold the fulfillment and the abandonment of those dreams and life well lived.  The eyes in the pictures you produce just look tired.  They don't capture the sparkle, nor the promise of fun things still to come.

That picture of us laughing, it does not capture the joy in our hearts or the love we feel for each other, it only shows an old filling and a double chin.  You can not hear the laughter nor the snort that followed the hilarity.  Your picture does not tell the truth.

How many times will I let you change my memory of how I looked on a special occasion?  How many times will I believe the false message you record rather than the image in the mirror?  Worse yet, why would I trust you over the people that love me?  For, in the end, it is they who really matter.

You remember the Back to the Future movies with all the video phones?  The reason that no one uses is them is that we all look like crap on them, nobody likes you iPhone camera.

Sincerely,
All of Us

Please Stop Calling Me a Racist

Since the election, social media posts from many of my black friends are disheartening.  The same was true during the Charlotte Race Riots several weeks ago.  Some of my social media friends have been my friends since we were 11 years old.  The most egregious was this one:

"Wow, the Presidency, the House AND the Senate?!  AmeriKKKa showed it's true colors."

My first reaction was fury but I was determined not to let it ruin my day.  I stewed on it for several days and then I realized if one of my white friends had made such an inflammatory statement, I would not let it go, so this was my reply:

Abolitionists Were Republicans
I was very hurt by this post. For its broad stroke of racism but for the historically and factual inaccuracies of such a statement. Historically, the party of Lincoln was founded in response to elite DC politicians who were fine with the status quo (Whigs, with our modern day equivalent being the establishment GOP) and slave owning Democrats. The Republican Party stood with black Americans in opposing slavery; millions of gallons of Republican blood was shed for that noble cause.

Campaign Poster from the 1800's
It was the Republican Party that stood between newly freed blacks and the vicious Democratic Party. When the Dems could not win in the field of ideas, they formed the terrorist group KKK. Read about the Wilmington Massacre, it is to date the only violent uprising and armed coup de'tat in our nation's history.

The First Black Senators and House Members were Republicans
It was the Democrats who intimidated black voters and passed Jim Crowe laws. It was the Democrats who opposed Republican Civil Rights Laws. There was only one candidate in this Presidental race who praised a former Exalted Cyclops of the KKK as a friend and mentor, that is Hillary Clinton in reference to the late Senator Robert Byrd. The KKK is still controlled by the Democrats they just have fooled everyone; they pose as Republican organization but their leader is the Devil and we know the Devil is a liar. The KKK is not and never has been a Republican organization, it's always been a weapon of the Democrats. (See this video)

Hillary's Senate Mentor KKK Exalted Cyclops Senator Robert Byrd
It was Hillary Clinton who has spoken her praise of Margaret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood. Margaret Sanger was a Eugenist and saw planned Parenthood as a way to keep the population of blacks down.  It was Hillary Clinton who believes you can suck out a babies brain on the day of its birth.

It was Hillary Clinton who wrote her thesis on Saul Alinsky whose book Rules for Radicals was dedicated to Satan.

Hillary Clinton is a Student of Saul Alinsky
81% of Evangelical Christians voted for DJT in this election because we oppose racism, because we oppose oppression, because we oppose the systematic murder and enslavement of the population. We are not racist, we are your brothers and sisters in Christ. A vote against Hillary Clinton was actually the least racist vote we could have made.

I tolerate no racism, in my friends, on my facebook, and in my life. The only racism I have experienced in my life is my friends, who I thought WERE my friends, turn out to be their race before all else.

Knowing So Much that is Not True

Ronald Reagan famously stated, "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

If you have engaged with anyone that is a liberal atheist, you will have first hand experience with this.  The Bible tells us:

"Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking ..." Romans 1:28.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

We are already seeing the great deception, "For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie." 2 Thessalonians 2:11

Truth holds no weight with them, they are wise in their own eyes (Proverbs 3:7) and can back up their positions with as many sources as you.  They are blind and ignorant and their hearts are hardened.  By rejecting God, they become foolish in all of their ways.  They have on glasses that show them a world that does not exist; they are ripe for deception, and doomed to judgement.

It is the ultimate mercy and restraint of a loving God that stays His hand, that allows evil to flourish, and does not demonstrate his infinite power in righteous anger against the wickedness and depravity that has been unleashed upon this earth.  He will not be silent forever and I pray that any whom we have loved and witnessed to will have a chance but I fear it is already too late.

Days of Judgement - Did He Really Just Say That?

Abigail and Dolley readers do you ever listen to global and national leaders speak and wonder what reality they are living in?  We watch the news and furl our brow in disbelief, like a Superman Comic, we've fallen into "Bizarro World".  Nothing is as it seems and truth is a rare commodity.

Here are some examples: Attorney General Loretta Lynch told a group of Muslims in Washington last night that her 'greatest fear' since the Paris terror attack is retaliatory violence against members of the religion. Lynch said as a prosecutor, she worries that the anti-Muslim rhetoric 'will be accompanied by acts of violence,' and said, 'We cannot give in to the fear that these backlashes are really based on.' (source)

Boldfaced Lies
Barack Obama has declared 22 times that "Climate Change is a the biggest threat we face." (source)

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan declared, "Some of our best and biggest allies in this struggle and fight against radical Islamic terror are Muslims, the vast vast vast majority of whom are peaceful, who believe in pluralism and freedom, democracy and individual rights.” (source)  Ryan obviously has fallen under major delusions about Islam and its ultimate goals.

These are statements from the last seven days... these people have all fallen under a judgement clearly defined in Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

The judgement upon them is pronounced:   2 Thessalonians 9-12 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Brainwashed and Confused
We live in a wicked time where darkness has descended upon the earth, an evil whose time was foretold since ancient times.  This is no surprise to those waiting and watching but must be quite confusing to those without a biblical understanding and worldview.  It is time for choosing, the hour grows late, soon you will not even know you are being lied to.

French Kissing the Devil

(Update:  the below blog was written Saturday 11/14 as the news from Paris rolled in.   I was very troubled in my spirit and sat down to compose a blog.  As I was writing, the Lord gave me a vision of a person walking up to the Devil, embracing and tongue kissing him.   When they pulled away, blood dripped from their lips and was smeared across their face.  The person stood with their arm around the shoulders of Satan and threw me a look of hatred.  It was disturbing and I was hesitant to write this or the blog.  It seemed insensitive and cruel but I was obedient.  It is now revealed that the concert the French victims were watching in the theater was a satanic metal band.  The song they were singing as the terrorist entered the concert hall was "Kiss the Devil".)

My Dad always asserted that at the end of the age the dividing line between good and evil would be so stark that there would be no gray.  I believe the day is upon us, the great delusion has begun.  People believe in their own righteousness, they reject God and his truth.

The humanist point of reference declares that man is the arbiter of right and wrong, that each person goes along the path they feel best suits them.  When you remove the immovable laws of God and right and wrong the morality of the world breaks down.  This is what we are witnessing.

If you are not firmly entrenched in the Word of God, you will be deceived.  We are seeing it everywhere as great madness descends upon the world.  Well meaning atheists are recoiling at the slaughter and terror in Paris but what they fail to realize is that they have by default aligned themselves with the same team.  By rejecting the free gift of Salvation, they choose their side.

In human standards, they may believe themselves to be good and righteous but by the standard of holiness required for salvation, we all have sinned and fall short of the perfection demanded by a holy God.  Thus, they are blinded.

Kissing the Devil Unaware
They walk up to the devil disguised as an angel of light and reason, put their arm around his shoulder, and tongue kiss him.  They pull away from the bloody kiss and see the world through their blind eyes.  The original promise of having the knowledge of good and evil was a lie for they can not see the difference and will call what is good evil and what is evil good.  For the devil is a liar, he was a liar from the beginning, and when he speaks he speaks his native language of lies.  The world has embraced the liar and he will destroy them.

Missing or Murdered - No One will ever know unless you are a pretty white girl

This post was originally published in early 2009, but it is as appropriate today as it was then.

Are you beautiful? If not, are you at least smart? If you are beautiful and you are smart - well, you hit the genetic lottery and you are by our societies standards our most valuable. We are all instinctively aware of this, but it was first brought to my attention while reading Dr. James Dobson. Dr. Dobson pointed out that for children in our society that are neither beautiful or smart parents need to validate and encourage those children for what they DO have to offer. He used the example of the notorious mass murderer, Richard Speck, who over the course of an evening, murdered eight nursing students in Chicago. A reporter commented that it was made even more tragic because all of the girls had been so attractive. In one off hand comment, he revealed what we truly believe, if you are beautiful, your life is more important.

National news coverage is only given to tragic abductions and murders of pretty white girls. When is the last time you saw a black child getting national news coverage? What about an ugly kid? Or what about a boy? I can answer that for you - you haven't. You can probably name the ones that come to mind: Jonbenet Ramsey, Polly Klaas, Elizabeth Smart, Jessica Lunsford and the latest Britanee Drexel. So our all inclusive media, who worships at the altar of promoting equality, fail, yet again, to present the news in an unbiased fashion.

I am by no means underplaying the seriousness and heart breaking reality of families dealing with the worst nightmare I can imagine. I am merely pointing out that if you are beautiful you get the coverage. Many of these families have channeled their tragedies into foundations that spot light this issue and have done great things to help save other children. John Walsh of America's Most Wanted, Mark Klaas of the Klaaskids Foundation, the Nationwide AMBER alert system - all beauty from ashes, made possible through national exposure of these cases.

Thankfully, there is someone who knows the pain these families suffer through, who comforts the grieving, and cares for the lost and the forgotten! He is incorruptible and eternal, He loves you so much He died for you. Jesus knows, and praise Him for that - because we fallible humans sure don't!

The Toughest Women on the Planet - Conservative, Good Looking, Brunette Politicians

Abigail and Dolley readers I must confess and it is indeed a sad day.  I have determined I can never run for political office.  You see I am a conservative, good looking, brunette (CGLB) and they are not allowed to run for public office any longer.  While technically not illegal (yet) Bachmann, Palin, and O'Donnell serve as a stern and sobering warning for any CGLB who is considering public office.  You better be ready, Sister, because you will be attacked with the ferocity of conflagration.

I have the added handicap of being nice and think of a good come back about an hour after someone insults me.  My Southern Accent used when inconveniently speaking my mind and telling the truth would be fresh meat to the slobbering hyenas of the Mocking Stream Media.  I would undoubtedly be destroyed.  I am an Evangelical Christian, who happens to believe in a CREATOR.  That immediately brands me a troglodyte.  My pastor preaches the unvarnished truth of the Gospel and says a lot of Politically incorrect things like Sin, Redemption, and Hell.  I am a believer in individual liberty and against violence towards children and women in all forms, which makes me an enemy of the "I want to kill your baby crowd".  I went to a (gasp) State school where I got B's, so I am obviously an idiot and not worthy to grace the halls of Congress with my superiors.  I am "in trade" as the English Aristocrats used to say while holding their noses.  I have not lived a perfect life. My biggest offense though, is that I am cute.

Ulysses S. Grant - We Have Been Lied To!

Abigail and Dolley readers until yesterday, if you had asked me about Ulysses S Grant, I would have told you that he was a Union General that was elected President.  I would have said he was a drunk and presided over a very corrupt Presidency.  He was a failure in business and died broke.  I suspect that you, my kind reader would have said something similar.

What would you say if I told you that portrayal is a lie?  What would you say if I revealed to you that Ulysses S Grant was one of the greatest Americans to ever hold the office of President?  What would you say if I told you that he was not a drunk?  You are probably as shocked as I was to find out that we have indeed been so completely deceived in our recollection of this man, that the injustice of it is nothing short of a crime against history.

Ulysses S Grant - Photo by Matthew Brady
It was this picture that caught my attention.  Most pictures of Civil War soldiers do not appeal to the modern eye.  I can't recall ever looking at one and thinking, "Wow, he's handsome!"  Thus, when I saw this yesterday, I had to find out who it was.  I was shocked to discover it was Grant.  The article was about how he was much maligned and how revisionist historians had painted such a false picture of this great American hero.  I had to find out for myself.

Ten hours later, I could weep from the injustice.  Ulysses S Grant was none of the things that I had previously thought except for the fact that he was a trusting man who was swindled out of his modest life savings and did indeed die broke.  Even the story of his death speaks to a man of unwavering integrity and honor.  In the throes of a painful death from throat cancer, Grant tirelessly composed and dictated his memoirs.  The proceeds from their sale were intended to rescue his families fortunes and he did not succumb to death until they were completed.

Widely regarded as the most successful Presidential Memoir in history, they are still in print and reveal a genius of wit and insight.  Mark Twain said of his memoirs that a thousand writers could not have tendered such a well-turned book where few if any sentences required revision and the simplistic language conveyed and imparted greater meaning than most anyone he'd ever read.

This was not the work of a lifelong alcoholic on his deathbed.  By all personal accounts and writings of those who knew him, Ulysses S Grant was a man of honor, temperance, and modesty.  He was a champion of civil rights, fierce protector of the Confederate Officers in peacetime, forged a humane and generous policy toward the American Indians, and crushed the domestic terrorism of the KKK.  He was a fierce lover of his family, devoted to his wife, and indulgent and affectionate toward his children.

He was an artist, a writer, and perhaps the greatest horseman to ever hold the office of President.  Grant was kind to animals and is said to have only been seen in a temper over a Teamster mistreating a horse.  He had an incredible memory and 20 years after the fact recognized a soldier with whom he had shared rations with at the Battle of Shiloh.  He recalled in great detail many aspects of battles, movements, and army life.  He was disciplined in his manner and speech.  He was humble and was always uncomfortable with the public adoration and praise that he received.

In all my research, I can find no contemporary of his who describes him as a drunk.  There is no indication of this in any accounts written during his lifetime or after in dozens of interviews.  The only allusion I could find of it was from WW Smith, who was a cousin and lifelong companion who indicated that Grant would occasionally not make himself available to people during the holidays while his children were home in favor of spending time with his family.  On one such occasion, it was written of Grant that he was drunk when in fact he had been spending time with his children.

Alas, he was a Republican and continued Lincoln's legacy to honor and protect the Black man and to heal the nation of the wounds of Civil War.  He was a brilliant General and an American Hero.  He was revered and well loved.  I suspect that liberal historians choose not to discuss this about him since it did not fit their purposes.  Shame on them.

Testing Principals - If it Does Not Work in the Micro it Will Not Work in the Macro

For a principal to be true in the Macro is must also be true in the Micro.  Failed policies, beliefs, and philosophies ignore this truth and seek to impose their will on others.  History often bares this out but as a society we are so self important we believe that because we are involved, this time it will be different.  It will not be different, for there is nothing new under the sun.

Let me give you some examples:

Individually, we know if we work very hard for something we value it more than if someone just gives it to us.  Examples in the Macro - public housing vs. private neighborhoods.  Have you ever seen pictures of new public housing and then a retrospect of what the same housing looks like 10 years later?  It is shameful, but demonstrates the point.  If you are "given" a home you do not have to work for or earn, what insentive do you have to take care of it?  None!  If given a choice, which would you choose, where would you live?

Evolution vs. Creation - in Creation the beginning is God.  In Evolution they can not tell you the beginning.  If you can not start with the first atom and explain where that came from, everything there after is based on a false premise and is then applied to the world and the universe at large.

Sincere and honest belief makes something true, truth is individual, and should be tolerated as equally valid.  This premise is applied to the macro of "personal faith" all the time, but it is ludicrous when applied to the micro.  If I sincerely believe that the plate of potato salad in front of me is a steak sandwich no matter how sincerely I believe it, it does not make it true.  If I sincerely believe that Ronald McDonald is the son of God does my sincere belief deserve the same respect as those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Truth is relative - If I sincerely believe I am an alien from Ork does that make it so?  No, it only sends me to a mental hospital!  If a rapist believes he is making love to a woman and that there is nothing wrong with that, does that make rape okay?

Communism vs. Free Enterprise - Communism ALWAYS fails in the micro and the macro.  It is only in the minds of the Utopians where it doesn't.  Unfortunately, there are enough mislead and deceived souls out there that will ignore history, ignore real world examples, and continue to live in LaLa Land.

Thus, I have briefly demonstrated the point that if something is not true at all levels then it can not be true at any level.  We must reject the lies and insist on the truth.  We must stop "tolerating" irrational suppositions and shine the light of sense, reason, and logic on the things that are only true in someone's mind.  We must stop supporting policy and regulations that seek to ignore human nature and impose a misguided vision on those they seek to help.  It is time my friend to stop humoring those who believe the lies and it is time to start speaking the truth.

Speaker Pelosi's "Cash for Democrat Re-Election Program"

Abigail and Dolley readers have you wondered why we have to pass MORE stimulus money when so much of what has already been passed is not spent?  Well, here you go:

Speaker Pelosi's "Cash for Democrat Re-Election Program"

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann issued the following statement regarding next week's special House session to spend $26 billion for supposed "state aid":

"Next week, Speaker Pelosi is calling the 435 Members of the House to DC next week for the purpose of spending another $26 billion we don't have.  We were on a six week hiatus, and members had scattered to the four corners of the Earth.
"The reason she wants to do this is because her members are in political trouble and she knows they will need the financial support of the public employee unions.  This $26 billion represents a circle that works like this:
"Take $26 billion away from the productive private sector, deposit it in the US Treasury.  Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat majority will then vote to send the money from the Treasury to politicians across the nation.
"State and local politicians then give the money to employees of public employee unions.  The public employee union skims their share off the top of the worker's check first in the form of union dues. Part of the dues are funneled into the union's political action committee, which in turn will be spent on political TV, radio, Internet, and print ads, as well as union "boots on the ground."
"Speaker Pelosi and President Obama have already spent $3.6 trillion on stimulus.  For them, $26 billion doesn't rise to the level of a day at the beach, so why bring us all back to DC after we were scattered?
"Could it be because their most loyal constituency and political foot soldiers, many of whom could be facing the never before seen horror of a government employee let go due to lack of state and local tax receipts, need to be reminded whose hand quite literally feeds them?
"Spending is the least popular item on the public's mind right now, but it looks to me like this $26 billion has more to do with fully funding the union political action coffers and making sure the left's political "volunteers" get the message to get out the Democrat vote.

Oh, Honorable Customer...

Abigail and Dolley readers I am a metaphorical thinker.  My brain just seems to work that way and I am not sure exactly why.  I often draw parallels between past and present or draw upon my historical lessons and apply them to current situations.  I think it is relatively unique, since no one in my immediate circle of friends seems to do much of this.

My latest musings surround a large client where our corporate cultures just don't match up any more.  You see, my company culture says that I need to make money.  Their corporate culture says that, "I am the Boss and you are my Beaotch!"  They say this kindly and tactfully with the buzz word:  Partnership.

Beware folks of the word "Partnership" when it is excessively bandied about in a business meeting, by the client.  In my experience, if a customer insists they want you to be their "Partner" that usually translates into:

  1. I am going to continue to shop the competition and force you to give me the cheapest price for everything.  I don't care if you have invested human resources specifically designed to service my account, that is what partners do, because we are SO important.
  2. I will demand from you excessive reporting (that I will not read or action).
  3. I will not pay your invoices on time and when I do I will short pay them by any amount I deem necessary.  You will, of course, have to deal with my payment company whose clerks are recruited from Idiots Incorporated.  They will have not a clue as to what they are doing and what they are auditing.  You will need to spend hours on conference calls with them explaining that while the contract reads "Pick up" - "Inland Freight" IS the same thing and the invoice needs to be processed.
  4. Accounts Receivable issues will be as a direct result of your inability to bill me correctly and will not be a reflection of my companies deficiencies in timely processing of invoices.
  5. You will provide invoice copies and back up to me and my payment company three times for every invoice.
  6. You will do tons of free consulting, arrange tours and junkets, give me analysis, and you will provide this information to me at any time and as many times as I tell you, for free.
  7. You will treat me to fine dinners and gifts.
  8. I will immediately assume if something goes wrong that you are the culprit.  I will not show contrition or regret when you prove to me it is my own companies internal dysfunction that caused the problem.
  9. I will make you participate in useless process meetings.  I will never follow up on them or even provide you with one written word about a day long meeting.  Never mind that you spent $1000 in travel expenses to attend.  You are my partner.
  10. I will force you to assume all of the market fluctuation risks, well, that is only if prices go up.  That is your risk after all.  I will demand concessions, though, when the market goes down.  You are never really supposed to make THAT much money on me, I am your partner after all.
  11. I will expect you to be financially responsible for all of my products.  In spite of the fact, that as my vendor you makes a small pittance on each transaction and I and my customer are the principal parties of interest in the transaction.
  12. I will not take your advise and buy the requisite insurance and will expect you to pay me in full in the event of a claim, which I will report to you three months after the fact.
  13. I will blame you for every storm, every strike, every delay, even if it is the hand of God, as MY partner you should have processes in place that protect me from that sort of thing.
  14. I will mismanage my business and expect you to pay up - significantly and as often as I see fit.
  15. I will assign an accounting intern to scrutinize your invoices and will expect significant refunds for past over charges, regardless of the fact that my analysis is flawed and corrupted.  I will expect you to provide me with years worth of back up so I can prove how much you have been cheating me.  I will want you to do this at a moments notice and for free.
  16. I will waste hours of your most important and brightest people and then I will trash them on a regular basis, my unhappiness is of course because of them.
  17. I will expect that you will travel to see me on a weekly basis and fly where ever I deem our next meeting should be, I have no care that the entertainment costs, travel expenses, and extra services actually make me a "Looser" for your company.  I AM important and you WILL service me.
  18. I will not care if the market shifts thousands of dollars a unit, I will hold you to rates negotiated before the market went crazy.  I will ignore your missives about pending rate increases and then accuse you of breaking our contract when you are forced to pass them to me without my precious approval.
  19. I will not subscribe to your news letter that gives important market information, but will lambaste you when I am not made specifically aware of changes that effect my business.
  20. I will impose on you laborious and detailed RFQ's.  During your presentation, I will bring up all of your short comings, bully and belittle you, and then leave the conference room without shaking your hand.
  21. In the end, I will hate you, because you will have failed to live up to the spirit of partnership and our NEW partner will be SO much better than you are.

So kind readers, all of the above made me realize I have been faced with this situation before.  When I was in the 11th Grade, my BFF and I started a house cleaning service.  We were, The Partners In Grime. We had been in business for about 6 months, working after school and doing really well.

Enter our new client... "The Chinese People".  It was a disaster from the beginning.  It was our practice to tell clients when we were selling our service that we only did, "Skeleton" cleaning.  Our prices were cheap and we were quickly in and out.  We requested that the house be empty when we cleaned because it was faster and more comfortable for everyone.  If a regular client needed us to do something special, every once in a while, we would do a "Special Request".

Chinese culture vs. American culture in the area of "Special Request" required a clarification that neither party knew needed to occur.

Every other Wednesday began to be dreaded with a fierce sense of, "Oh, I don't want to go THERE!"  You see, there was nothing normal about this client.  First of all, there were about 20 of them living in a 1500 sft house.  They did not leave when we got there and sometimes would just stay in the room you were trying to clean.  My BFF is a red head and a beautiful one at that.  I think I heard somewhere that red heads are thought to be witches in some parts of China.  The ancient Chinese Grandmother seemed to think so because she would follow my BFF around, sit in the dark across the hall, and chant in a low angry voice.  I suppose it was some sort of evil spirit repellent.  It was unnerving, to say the least.

One afternoon, we were complaining to another friend, and if memory serves me correctly, getting organically prepared for our "Chinese People".  Our friend laughed her head off at the story of the Grandmother and suggested we press our hands together with our thumbs on our noses, bow, and say, "Oh, Honorable Grandmother, shut the fuck up!"  It was one of the biggest laughs I ever had.

You see, what made the Chinese people intolerable was that they ALWAYS had a "Special Request".  Most of clients had never even had one, so we were ill prepared to say, "No."  They got progressively worse, the last one was a doozy.  They handed my BFF a paper sack and a shovel and told her to clean the fire place.  By this point, we had decided the $25 was not worth all the hassle and this was our last job.  I wasn't much of a business women at 17, but I was a quick learner!

What we did not know, was the ashes were not totally cold.  The embers ignited in the paper sack and the whole kitchen and living room filled with smoke.  There were Chinese people screaming everywhere and all we wanted to do was get our money and get the hell out of there.

You just can't win with these types of clients.  They are time suckers, productivity killers, morale destroyers, and not big enough to support all the resources that have to be poured into making them happy and making you money.

I had to say goodbye this week to one such customer, I was told after the fact that it was the most professional kiss off they had ever read, but what I really wanted to say was:

"Oh, Honorable Customer, shut the fuck up."

A Partisan President

Abigail and Dolley readers can you ever recall a time when the President of the United States taunted half of his countrymen?  Can you ever remember being held in disdain by the elected leaders of the country?  Can you ever remember being belittled?  Can you ever remember a more disgusting display of gloating over a victory?
Sadly, this is what we have received from our Hope and Change President.  Most of America was mourning on Monday and had to endure the taunting of the victorious.  Instead of waiting for the full passage of the debacle President Obama and his cohorts held a signing.
Instead of reaching out to calm Americans so against this bill, they linked arms and strolled through the crowd with a giant gavel that represented the hammer in which they will beat you with.

The manner in which they have lied, cheated, and disregarded the will of the American people is almost as abhorrent as the bill itself.

This Is Red

That's right, Abigail and Dolley readers, we have entered into a world where our public officials will look at something and declare it is something else.  So it is within this spirit, that I declare the above plant is RED.  Do not let the right wing fringe lie to you and tell you it is green.

Just as the Tea Party is astroturf and has much in common with the Democratic Party (according to Nancy Pelosi this weekend) and that Global Warming isn't still a pending disaster, in spite of the evidence of scandal, swindle, and fraud (courtesy of Al Gore).  No, we have entered into an age where we look clearly at something and with a straight face declare that it is something else.  It is the height of arrogance and self-delusion.

Folks, it is time to stop accepting this malarkey.  It is time to speak the truth over things, without fear.  Thus, I declare to you the above plant is actually GREEN and I am not afraid to say it.

We Can Adjust For That

Abigail and Dolley readers know that I am all over the Global Warming Scam and the news is coming in fast and furious.  My favorite news from yesterday was the revelation that 90% of the temperature sensors in the USA are improperly placed in accordance to the governments own rules.  A volunteer organization has located nearly all of the sensors and photographed their locations.  The data is posted at their web site www.surfacestations.org but as of this writing it is shut down, seemingly from the overwhelming traffic.

These sensors are supposed to be 100 feet from any influencing heat source, yet they are not.  Some are near heat islands of airports, some sit beside window air conditioners, one sits on a tombstone, others are just on the blacktop.  My favorite was 5 feet from a garbage can used to BURN rubbish.

Since the disputed rise in global temperatures is a mere 1.5 degrees, don't you think this is important?  The scientists say they can adjust for these things, but do they?  Or is this another way to manipulate and lie to the public about what is really going on.

This is truly the biggest scientific scandal of our time.

I Am a Conservative, Not a NeoConservative; I Am a Liberal, Not a Progressive

Hmm, as Abigail and Dolley readers know we are constantly refining our positions, investigating our beliefs, and testing our tenants to insure that they conform to logical and linear arguments.  I stumbled upon a debating Democrat this morning who when asked to define what he believed in was articulate, reasoned, logical, and firmly held beliefs based on the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.  So how then could he possibly consider himself a Democrat?  What I discovered was that he considered himself a liberal and thus historically identified with the Democratic Party and had not yet realized that is not who they are anymore.  Conversely, he attacked the conservative writer by bringing up the failures of the Bush Administration obviously assuming that anyone of the conservative mind set must be a defender of GW Bush and a fellow NeoConservative.

It is the Progressives that are running the Dems and the Neo-Cons that are running the GOP - that is what is dividing us politically because the American people are not Progressives or Neo-Cons. Thus, those of us with a conservative mind set view the Progressive agenda with horror and the Dems do the same with the Neo-Cons. The challenge in our discourse is that WE THE PEOPLE are not represented by either of the major Political parties, but are tearing each other apart for things we have perceived the "other" side to believe.

The Religion of Environmentalism

Abigail and Dolley readers may recall another blog I wrote on this subject, The Green Movement.  Today, I will examine the duped Environmentalist and through a fictional debate, show the unsuspecting, the truth behind their Religious Left beliefs.

Dolley:  What role does God play in Environmentalism?
Greenie:  What do you mean?
Dolley:  I mean do you believe in a Creator that regularly tends to His creation?
Greenie:  A Creator? Well no, all the evidence proves that we got here by evolution.  Before you go getting all crazy on me, I do believe in a higher power and God of the universe.
Dolley:  So you believe that god is in the earth?
Greenie:  Yes, that's it exactly and as members of the universe have to take care of the earth.
Dolley:  So, what you are saying is that you have to take care of god?
Greenie:  (Sigh) We don't believe in god that way, but in essence yes.
Dolley:  Since you believe that man was part of evolution, are humans on the same level as other creatures?
Greenie:  Actually, humans are the destroyers of the earth and are by their behavior less than other creatures.
Dolley:  What do you feel is the greatest threat today to the earth?
Greenie:  Pollution, development, industry - we are destroying the earth.
Dolley:  So do you think we should "decivilize"?
Greenie:  Ideally, yes.
Dolley:  Do you believe the earth was best when man lived in caves and hunted and gathered?
Greenie:  Sure, of course.
Dolley:  What would you say to me if I told you that Global Warming was a hoax?
Greenie:  I would say you are ignorant of the truth and need to be educated.
Dolley:  What if I refused to believe your education and insisted on living the way I chose?
Greenie:  Well then, we would be forced to pass laws and make you conform.
Dolley:  So if I understand this correctly, you do not believe in a Creator that regularly tends to His creation.  You worship the god of the universe who requires you to take care of it.  You believe that humans are an accident and the biggest threat to the earth and that all vestige of civilization should be wiped out to return to the perfect environmental state.  If I do not believe you, you will just legislate my compliance with your religion.
Greenie:  I don't like the way you make it sound, but yes, we must protect the earth and take you along kicking and screaming if we have to.

Would such an exchange ever take place?  No, because most environmentalists would not answer the questions in a straight forward manner.  They would dodge, misdirect, and name call.  The question remains, if the above true, is it an accurate representation of their beliefs?  I believe it is.

The environmentalist reject God of the Bible.  My God is all powerful and the maker of this earth.  My God loved me so much, he died on the cross for me as penalty for my sin.  The environmentalist god demands that its subject serve it.  Their god is weak and must be cared for at all costs.  My God created the Heavens and the Earth.  My God created man in His image and gave him dominion over the earth.  The environmentalist believes that man is a scourge upon the earth and the destroyer thereof.  My God gives and inspires innovation and invention that improve the plight of man on this earth, through drugs, safety, transportation, electricity, comfort, and long life.  The environmentalist god says that all of these things are bad and must be dismantled.  My God says, "Come to me all you who are burdened and I will give you rest, for my burden is light and my load is easy" and "For God so loved the earth, that He gave is only begotten Son, that whosoever that believith in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."  The environmentalist god proclaims that if you don't believe in me I will force you, for your own good, of course.

Which do you choose?

If You Can't Say Something Nice.... Come Sit Beside Me

That is a catty old statement isn't it and a complete corruption of the time honored advise admonishing us to keep our mouths shut if we can't say something nice.  We are also told not to speak ill of the dead.  I am going to do both, right now, and I don't care if my inner Southern Belle Lady is cringing and throwing a genteel tantrum.  She's just going to have to hush.

Jack Murtha  is a sorry, corrupt, pig of a man who robbed, raped, and pillaged this country for 35 years.
From ABSCAM to the Airport the man was a scoundrel and did not deserve to hold public office.

Observe good ole Jack Murtha at work:

NBC Honors Black History Month

It's called Projection.  In Psychology 101 students learn that people often "project" their thoughts and motives on other people.  Without empirical evidence to back up their opinion, people tend to believe that everyone else thinks about things the same way that they do.  This is a mistake, especially when you are dealing with people from completely different back grounds.  Look at the election of Barack Obama, the entire electorate projected their hopes and dreams on an unqualified and undefined candidate, they are now feeling quite betrayed because he is not who they thought he was.

Cultural influence determines in large part our patterns of behavior and thought processes.  It is a mistake for me to assume that a 16 year old Mexican boy thinks about the world the same way that I do.  It is equally erroneous to assume my neighbor views the world the same way that I do just because we reside near each other.  Diplomats have extensive training in this regard, because you can not project in negotiation and diplomacy.  International business is another area where one must be very careful not to assume that others think and feel the same way that you do about an issue.  Journalism is also a career where projection must be kept at bay and sadly this discipline has been largely lost in recent years.

You often hear about Projection as it pertains to assuming others have the same negative personality flaws.  We see this in an adulterer, who accuses his faithful spouse of cheating; or the office thief who thinks everyone else is stealing the coffee, toilet paper, and thumb tacks.  I believe in large part those that cry racism are largely projecting their own twisted thinking onto their supposed enemies.  They do this to hide and deflect their own motivations.  It truly is Psych 101.

Thus, behold, the evidence of the left in this regard.  They cry racism from the roof tops, but merely are yelling at the mirror in front of them.  Recent blatant examples of Liberal racism - Jimmy Carter referring to Barack Obama as a "Black Boy".  Harry Reid's infamous light skinned without the Negro dialect comment.  Robert Byrd's association with the KKK and his use of the term "white N-----".  Bill Clinton's statement that Barack Obama would have been waiting on him a few decades ago.  Joe Biden's description of Obama as "clean".  Even Jesse Jackson's "Hymietown" description of Jewish NYC show the deep seated racism in the liberal ranks.  It goes on and on.

Modern day television "journalism" has no more blatant example the the General Electric Company's NBC. This bastion of uber liberal left wing propaganda is the proud home of the thrill running up his leg, I forgot he was black, Obama worshiper Chris Matthews. These self proclaimed enlightened folks disparage the regular folks as "Tea Baggers" and without a shred of evidence depict them as racially motivated hate mobs who are simply missing their white sheets and burning crosses.  The "post racial" cultural elites decry the perceived racism of their opponents and it is merely a reflection of their own sick and corrupted hearts.  I give you NBC's honor of Black History Month:

WOW!  Truly, don't you think its great that blacks will at last be able to sit at the lunch counter?  I wonder, if Black History month was in the summer, would they have included Watermelon on this menu?

Energy Fascists

The below provides the back ground to the Yuka Mountain Facility and I originally published this several months ago.

Fascism... the phrase is thrown around so lightly these days that I believe in order to support the title, I must define the word.  Abigail and Dolley readers know that while some posts may be tongue in cheek, most are well reasoned works by thoughtful individuals, the rest are written by me.  (There's that tongue in cheek thing again...)

Merriman's Online Dictionary defines fascist as: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

According to your worldview or political philosophy you will infer what you wish to our present leadership and circumstances.  I submit to you an example of such fascism as displayed this week by the closing of the Yuka Mountain Nuclear Waste storage facility.  William La Jeunesse wrote a great piece on this and I encourage you to read the article.

Basically, it boils down to this:  Nuclear energy is the cleanest, safest, greenest, abundant, renewable energy source in the world.  It is just not politically popular.  This bad rap is not based on facts, but irrational fear and Hollywood hype.  It is the ultimate in green energy, yet it is shunned in favor of expensive windmills that kill tens of thousands of birds a year, solar farms that are an eyesore, and other "green" solutions that costs 10, 20, 50, 200% more per power unit than nuclear power.

For decades, the Federal Government has been charging every household in America an excise tax on your power bill to pay for a nuclear waste disposal facility in the middle of no where.  The Obama Administration has decided to close the Yuka Mountain facility leaving the nation without a place to store it's nuclear waste.

Do I sense a little "nudge" from the Obama crowd?  What happens to all the waste currently being produced?  Doesn't that sound unreasonable to you, to close a billion dollar facility with no alternative?  Could their motive be to shut down nuclear power in the USA?  Could their motive be a way to force power companies to raise rates and thus open the way for government to intervene against the evil power companies?  Could their motive be to force the cap and trade bill though the Congress by demonizing electric companies who endanger the public with their dangerous nuclear waste?  Could they intervene through the take over of health care and declare nuclear power a danger to our health?  What about intervening from a National Security perspective since the power companies must now protect nuclear material?

Let's review:

fascist as: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Correction!

Abigail and Dolley readers know I am no fan of Obama, but I hate a liar and I hate spin.  I will never participate in that type of thing that I despise so greatly.  It turns out the photo of Obama with the teleprompter was after he had sat for 20 minutes with the students.  Shame on Drudge and Yahoo for showing this out of context.  I do not agree with the Presidential "Race to the Top" initiative and believe he is a well scripted fraud, but fair is fair and here is the other picture.
